Darren Till confirms UFC release and reveals reasons behind the move

After suffering a knee injury against Whittaker in 2020, Till has never looked the same and he claimed to have injured it again during his latest loss to du Plessis.but will be taking a break from the UFC, saying: “I’m not retired, this is not a retirement speech. I’m 29, that would be stupid to decide.“I’m on a bit of a losing skid at the moment, I really am.
“Now, I don’t know what to do properly, but I think I’m going to have a little time off from the UFC, I don’t know, and just rethink stuff. It appears Till was serious about taking some time away from the UFC and they are happy to allow him to do that as a free agent after eight successful years of working together.
‘The Gorilla’ has been one of the UFC’s biggest British stars since he joined the organisation in 2015 and he even headlined when they held their first and only show in Liverpool.Till walks away from the UFC with big wins over Donald Cerrone, Stephen Thompson, and Gastelum – he’ll be hoping to add more to his 18-5-1 record when he returns.
