Journalist and former OceanGate passenger David Pogue says he knew there were “many things” which could have gone wrong during his trip in the submersible despite feeling safe.

“It’s a tough question, because there’s the intellectual feeling of safety, and on that I was feeling completely satisfied,” he told Sky News Australia.

“They showed me all the backup systems, and all the backups of backups, they had made two years worth of dives to the Titanic, never had an injury, never had a fatality. “Intellectually there was nothing to worry about, emotionally is another story, I knew there were many things that could kill me.”
