She said any child carrying a knife 'could become a murderer'
A mother whose Northampton son was stabbed through the heart says "I failed my son" and that parents "have the responsibility to stop our children carrying a knife." She also said any child carrying a knife "could become a murderer".
All four were found guilty at Northampton Crown Court in September last year. On November 29, the four were sentenced to a total of 92 years in prison. "The cannabis really wasn't what Christopher was," she continued. "He was not a druggie, he was not dealing, just growing it for his own use. While she thanked Northamptonshire Police and applauded attempts by many forces to stop knife crime, Ms Smith believes the ultimate responsibility lies with parents. "As parents, we have the responsibility to stop our children carrying a knife," she said.
