Court documents revealed new details surrounding the random stabbing of a woman walking in Tacoma's Point Defiance Park in February.

The woman who was stabbed told officers that before being attacked the stabbing suspect came “uncomfortably close” to her while walking along the marked trail near Five-Mile Drive. She stopped and offered to let him pass, but he laughed and declined her offer. The woman felt him strike her back shortly after declining then he began to stab her repeatedly, court documents said.
Three nearby witnesses heard the stabbing victim screaming and ran to help. Court documents state the witnesses were walking on the light blue trail approximately 100 yards east of where the stabbing victim was found. Upon arrival, one witness saw the suspect on top of the woman with a knife in his hands. Another witness arrived after running towards the screams and saw this too.“She’s a pedophile, I can’t let her live,” the stabbing suspect replied.The witness said it looked like the man was about to stab the victim again, so she kicked him in the face and knocked him off of the victim. Court documents say the stabbing suspect ran after being kicked off.
