Former treasurer Josh Frydenberg has poured cold water on speculation about his return to federal parliament at the next election, declaring his support for the woman who won a Liberal Party preselection to contest his former seat of Kooyong in Melbourne.
Frydenberg said he was backing Amelia Hamer, the Oxford-educated former finance professional who won a Liberal Party vote in March to become the official candidate in Kooyong against “teal” independent Monique Ryan.Credit:“I am not rushing back to politics, my position on contesting the next election remains unchanged,” he said on social media.
