Court records and police are providing more insight about a crash over the weekend that claimed the life of one person and injured seven others.
, 22, of South Carolina is facing multiple criminal homicide charges after he told passengers, in a car he was driving, that he would kill them and then got into a wreck, York City Police stated.Criminal records showed that Alford got into an argument with his girlfriend along on E. Princess Street. They two argued over accusations of cheating before Alford grabbed the keys to a red Hyundai and left to pick up three people police called "witnesses in this case.
Passengers in the car with Alford told officials that his behavior was "weird" and that he was angry while driving through the city. One witness recounted that she feared for her life due to Alford's reckless driving. Everyone in the vehicle with Alford then warned him about a red light at the intersection of N. Sherman Street and E. Philadelphia Street.
After they warned Alford, he told them, "I am going to kill everyone in the car," before shifting the car into "sport mode" and accelerating into the intersection.Multiple people in both cars were critically injured in the wreck, according to police.Three counts of criminal attempted homicideAccident involving death or injury of a personHe is currently being held at the York County Prison on a $250,000 bail.
