Pour one out for this one-of-300 American sports car, believed to have just 15 miles on the clock
A rare delivery-mileage 2000 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R was wrecked in a dealership crash. A Hyundai Tucson driver smashed into the showroom where the SVT Cobra R was parked. The incident took place at Tri-City Ford dealership in Eden, North Carolina, earlier this month. Mustangs get banged up all the time, but few meet their demise quite like this one. This isn’t just any Mustang—it’s a rare 2000 SVT Cobra R, one of only 300 ever built.
It's clear from the photos that debris was scattered everywhere and the passenger side of the pony car took serious damage. A second photo of the Ford after the crash shows the door crumpled in. The windshield is shattered and it appears as though all of the side glass is broken out as well. We also see a plastic covering on the passenger seat which hints at something else about this car. It reportedly had very low mileage. In a video from 2017, we see the dealership start it up.
