Anderson Air Force Base (AFB) on Guam in the Pacific played host to hypersonic weapon training last month for its B-52 Stratofortress aircrews. Crews were familiarized with hypersonic weapon system workings and tactics to increase operational readiness.

According to a press release from Anderson AFB in Guam , several of its B-52 crew were given a crash course into the workings of hypersonic missile systems like ARRW.Anderson Air Force Base (AFB) on Guam in the Pacific played host to hypersonic weapon training last month for its B-52 Stratofortress aircrews.

Conducted on February 27, crews from the 3rd Expeditionary Bomb Squadron and 49th Test and Evaluation Squadron were reportedly familiarized with hypersonic weapon system workings and tactics. The crew, AFB reports, received academic training on the fundamentals of hypersonic weapons and participated in discussions about the weapons systems. This combination was made to “increase operational readiness and prepare multiple Air Force aircraft communities for hypersonics including the Hypersonic Attack Cruise Missile, Air-launched Rapid Response Weapon, and other programs under development,” AFB report
