Clarendon Hills Village Board rejected proposal by a former Village Board and Park Board member to allow a Hydroponic farm to be located in a corner of the Lions Park Pool parking lot.
A proposal by a former Village Board and Park Board member to allow a Hydroponic farm to be located in a corner of the Lions Park Pool parking lot was rejected Monday Sept. 18 by the Village Board in a 5-1 vote.
“The staff was very active in try to help Mr. Knoll through the process, including a large number of pre-application meetings, assistance with legal requirements and expedited revisions,” Creer said. “Any lack of a courtesy notification would have been an accidental omission.” Just prior to the vote on Knoll’s request, Creer told the Village Board that it had the option to continue to case until Knoll, was able to attend. He was out of town during Monday’s Sept. 18 meeting.
“Neighbors have certain notification rights as well within our ordinance,” he said. “And neighbors were in attendance to speak against the application.”What Knoll wants to do is use two shipping containers, as a farm, to grow lettuce and other leafy greens, in the northwest portion of the Lions Park Pool property at 100 Byrd Court. He also wants to have eight designated parking spots for use. He would lease space from the Lions Club.
