A father and husband is mourning the loss of his pregnant wife, who died in a car crash on Monday.
The House has voted to pass a stopgap funding bill just hours before a midnight deadline to avert a federal government shutdown. Rossana Moreno and their three children were driving home when a suspect in a shooting ran a red light and crashed into their vehicle. While the three children were unharmed, Moreno did not survive the crash.Michael Thrall, Moreno’s husband, wasn’t in the car that night. Friday, he shared about his wife’s vibrant spirit and how she was a light to everyone around her.
Thrall said, "We just would talk a lot. I thought she was the most beautiful woman I’ve ever met. I was too much of a coward to talk to her, it wasn’t until later that she was texting me, and I eventually got the courage to be like ‘you know what, let’s go on a date.’ So we went on a date and about six months later I proposed to her."
