Hurricane Lorenzo is the strongest hurricane ever recorded so far east in the Atlantic Ocean. While no immediate threat to the land, it could threaten the Azores Islands by the middle of next week.

Hurricane Lorenzo is moving toward the center of the Atlantic Ocean tonight; pinned between the Bermuda High to its west and the Azores High to its east, Lorenzo has nowhere to go but north. The hurricane should slowly curve toward the north and northeast through early next week as the Azores High weakens, potentially posing a threat to the Azores Islands themselves by midweek.
