HELENE DISCUSSION: Helene is now a Category 2 hurricane located about 320 miles SW of Tampa, Florida . It's moving into an environment with low wind shear and deep, warm water along it's future path. Those factors will help it intensify into a major hurricane, possibly a Cat 4, before making landfall along the Florida Big Bend coast tonight.
RAIN: This is highly dependent on where you are. The further east you go, the more likely it is you see between 1-3". Based on recent guidance, areas west of I-65 may not even receive and inch of rain. If some forecast models I see come though, then areas west of Mobile Bay could spend most of tomorrow mainly dry and gusty.
OFFSHORE: There's a Small craft advisory for waters surrounding and offshore of coastal Alabama and the bays of NWFL. Offshore of Santa Rosa and Okaloosa Counties, there is a tropical storm warning in effect. Seas could occasionally build up to 14 feet in the afternoon and we could see gusts up to 45 kts.
