MANILA, Philippines — Filipino hurdler John Cabang unfortunately ended his Paris Olympics stint with an injury.

In his Instagram story, Cabang said that he's no longer running in the 110m repechage race set on Tuesday, August 6 at 4:50 p.m. at the Stade de France due to an injury he didn't specify.'I'm not gonna be able to run due to an injury. Thanks to all the people who supported me. Lapan Pilipinas! ,' wrote Cabang .On August 4, the 22-year-old Cabang clocked 13.

Participants who finished outside the cut including Cabang got moved to repechage for their last chance to make the semis.Cabang deciding not to run anymore also marks the end of the Philippine athletics team campaign in Paris.Lauren Hoffman could also not make the semis in the women's 400m hurdles as EJ Obiena missed the podium in the men's pole vault final, placing fourth.The Philippines' 88-year medal drought in Olympic athletics thus will continue for at least four more years.
