Republicans claim that an exchange during the Hunter Biden hearing shows a House Democrat inadvertently proved that President Joe Biden knew about Hunter Biden's business deals.
Rep. Dan Goldman questioned Internal Revenue Service whistleblower Gary Shapley during a hearing on Wednesday, during which he asked about part of his testimony, which he appeared to believe was in error."You describe a lunch, where we talked about earlier, where Joe Biden came to say hello at the Four Seasons Hotel, to lunch that he was having with CFC executives, right?" he asked.
"Well, that is true, Hunter Biden tried to do business. That's correct," Goldman responded, appearing flustered. "While playing Biden family lawyer, @RepDanGoldman inadvertently prompted IRS Whistleblower Shapley to confirm @POTUS did discuss Chinese business deals with Hunter," the House Oversight Twitter account tweeted."Joe Biden continues to DENY having knowledge of his son's shady business dealings."
