Hunter Biden has hired another high-profile lawyer to represent him ahead of a number of anticipated investigations next year once Republicans take control of the House, including an attorney who previously worked for former White House adviser Jared Kushner.
Biden recently hired Abbe Lowell to join his legal team ahead of the expected investigations, according to Kevin Morris, another attorney for the president's son. Lowell is a well-known attorney in Washington, D.C., who previously represented Kushner in Congress as well as in investigations into Russian election interference and links between former President Donald Trump and the Russian government.
The hiring comes as Biden is expected to be at the center of a number of House investigations over the next two years once the GOP controls the lower chamber in January. The younger Biden’s business dealings have long been of interest to the Republican Party, first taking prominence during the 2020 election as the GOP sought to determine whether then-candidate Joe Biden benefited financially from his son’s transactions, pointing to national security concerns.
