Tired of running and hunger in the mountains, four members of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) voluntarily gave up to the pursuing government troops in Agusan del Norte.

BUTUAN CITY – Tired of running and hunger in the mountains, four members of the Communist Terrorist Group voluntarily gave up to the pursuing government troops in Agusan del Norte.

Prior to the surrender, the rebels and the government troops belonging to 29th IB figured in a firefight on Friday , resulting in the death of one high-ranking CTG personality and seizure of two high-power firearms in Agusan. According to them, they wanted to live a normal life because they are already tired of running and hiding in the face of intensified combat operations conducted by the government troops in the hinterlands of Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte and Butuan City, the 29th IB CMO officer told The Manila Bulletin/Tempo on Sunday.

“With our intensive information awareness campaign against the CTG, the people are now enlightened about their criminal and terroristic acts wherein they have already declared them as “Persona Non-Grata” in their community,” said Colonel Saldua.
