Around 200 people turned out for the Scottish Huntington's Association's 100-song event which was held in the George Square area yesterday.

The challenge was set out as part of Huntington’s awareness month which runs throughout the month of May, reports the Record.Those participating collected sponsorship from friends and family before they dancing for five hours at the square while songs were played back-to-back. It is hoped that the event will make the public more aware of the disease which is thought to affect one in 5000 people in Scotland.

Huntington’s disease can be devastating for sufferers, affecting their movement, thinking ability and can result in early-onset dementia.
