Hundreds of revellers were caught partying at an illegal lockdown rave in Greater Manchester – despite the area being under strict coronavirus rules.
A young woman, who was one of the party organisers, has been hit with a £100 fine over the unlawful event.Police went down to inspect the party after receiving numerous complaints, but were met with missiles as they tried to shut down the event, which they called a ‘selfish’ and ‘blatant breach of covid legislation’.Greater Manchester is one of several areas in north England that has had stricter coronavirus rules imposed following a spike in cases.
The party came after police put out an urgent plea to the public over the weekend after an ‘unprecedented surge’ in 999 calls.
