Hundreds of people without power in Cumberland County following a crash
Police are on the scene where a pickup crashed into a utility pole Thursday afternoon in Hampden Township.A pickup truck hit a utility pole late Thursday afternoon in Hampden Township, knocking out power to the surrounding area.
The crash occurred at around 4:50 p.m. on Valley Road down the hill from Wertzville Road, according to a supervisor with the Cumberland County 911 Center. There are 695 people without power in the area, according PP&L. There is no estimated timeline for repairs to be completed because the pole has to be replaced, an official said.
Power has been knocked out at the Giant grocery store, 4510 Marketplace Way. No one answered the phone at the Weis Market across the street at 4525 Valley Road.The traffic light at the intersection of Wertzville Road, Valley Road and Technology Parkway is out, and officials are directing traffic there.
