Out of the 2,172 passengers aboard the ship, the 180 passengers who reported feeling sick came down with a salmonella outbreak. Three crew members also reported feeling ill,“The health and safety of our guests, crew, and the communities we visit are our top priority,” a Royal Caribbean spokesperson. “To maintain an environment that supports the highest levels of health and safety onboard our ships, we implement rigorous cleaning procedures, many of which far exceed public health guidelines.

The ship also announced the outbreak and encouraged passengers to practice “good hand hygiene” and reporting of cases, according to the CDC.
