Hundreds of fentanyl pills, heroin found in car seat at Beech Grove apartment

13News reporter Chase Houle details how police found hundreds of narcotics in a Beech Grove apartment.

Detectives say they were tipped off that a man was in possession of and attempting to distribute"M30" fentanyl pills. According to police, all while he was on probation for a felony handgun charge.

The Marion County inmate database shows the man was arrested the same day he was released after serving a little more than four months in jail. This comes a day after Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears told 13News he was going to be cracking down harder on drug dealers. "If can trace or link a specific drug to the cause of death to the coroner's office that, that's what caused a person's death and we can trace that back to a specific dealer, we can file a level one felony. So, a level one felony carries a penalty of 20 to 40 years," Mears said.IMPD officers found $23,000 of what they believe to be drug money during an arrest in Beech Grove.
