Hundreds lined up outside the Topanga Westfield mall in hopes of getting their hands on a new collection of pocket watches from Audemars Piguet and Swatch.
Hundreds lined up outside the Topanga Westfield mall Friday night in hopes of getting their hands on exclusive Royal Pop pocket watches - a collaboration between Swatch and luxury watch brand Audemars Piguet.
Hundreds prepared to camp out overnight in a line stretching around the mall parking lot. The pocket watches officially release on Saturday. As anticipation built ahead of the release, many were expecting a wristwatch.
"I was surprised. I was disappointed for sure, but it's unique on its own," Woodland Hills resident William Enenstein said while waiting in line.
"Who else is coming out with a pocket watch that has 500 people plus lined up? Nobody.
" More than 300 people initially gathered, but Los Angeles police later limited the line to 200 due to limited supply. Northridge resident Aidan Chin said he wants to wear the watch, not resell it.
