The bust at the annual pop culture and comic book convention came thanks to a joint investigation via the San Diego Human Trafficking Task Force. Officials say they targeted sex buyers who use the convention to seek victims. Law enforcement officials operated undercover posing as sex buyers to identify victims and traffickers during the three-day sting. Child Welfare Services agents on scene provided support to victims.
