She passed away in Los Angeles in the US, where she’s been staying with her daughter.

Kadalie was SA’s human rights commissioner from 1995 until her widely publicised resignation in December 1997.In 1999 she founded Impumelelo Social Innovations Centre, which promoted improving poor people’s quality of life.Kadalie was also a columnist for different newspapers.

She shocked many when in 2016 she came out in support of controversial former US president, Donald Trump.She was born in Cape Town’s District Six.
