A body was found in a suitcase next to an apartment building on Long Island Tuesday, leaving locals in the leafy community in a state of disbelief.
The suitcase was found deeper in a wooded area near the apartment complex. It is unclear how long it was there for or how long ago the person inside had died. The medical examiner didn’t arrive to take away the body until nightfall. The person’s identity and cause of death will not be determined until the autopsy has been completed by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office, according to Robert Waring, the acting police commissioner.
