Sterling K. Brown in Paradise Season 2

18 months ago, most TV fans weren’t even aware that Paradise existed. But, since the release of its first season last January and sophomore outing this February, the show has not-so-quietly become one of the most popular sci-fi series in recent years.

Paradise was written and created for TV by Dan Fogelman, who famously wrote all seasons of This Is Us, starring Sterling K. Brown. Fogelman recruited Brown to star in his new post-apocalyptic thriller show as Xavier Collins, a competent Secret Service agent who is tasked with investigating the murder of the President . The show flips expectations upside down when it’s revealed that this murder didn’t happen in a normal world, but instead it took place in an underground bunker in Colorado. 25,000 survivors were forced underground after a seemingly world-ending catastrophe. In an era where many shows often take years to return with a second season, Paradise returned for Season 2 less than one year after the Season 1 finale. Hulu has already renewed Paradise for a third season, and while most fans of the show would prefer that it didn’t go anywhere anytime soon, Fogelman has confirmed that the series will end with Season 3. Over the last few weeks, Sterling K. Brown has hinted that Paradise Season 3 will begin filming sooner rather than later, but creator Dan Fogelman recently took to his personal Instagram to share a huge update about the future of the series. Fogelman posted a photo of himself with other scribes from Paradise, confirming that the writing phase of Season 3 is finished, and that the start of production is next on the list. While it’s not yet been confirmed, one of the strongest fan theories surrounding Paradise Season 2 is that the show is operating on multiple timelines. This would lend credibility to Dylan, or Link , the son of Sinatra , being alive, although she thought he died when he was a child. While this hasn’t been confirmed, and won’t be until the Season 2 finale, there is plenty of evidence to support the multiple timeline theory. This will certainly plunge the series headfirst into hard sci-fi, which will be a controversial decision that may split the fan base.
