What Freeze believed went wrong on the failed double pass in the fourth quarter against Alabama
After cutting the deficit to two scores and forcing a fumble, Auburn had one last chance to put itself back in the game against Alabama.and even worse execution gave the ball right back to Alabama and the Crimson Tide never gave up their 14-point lead,The interception came on a trick play where Payton Thorne threw a backward pass to Jarquez Hunter and Hunter launched a deep pass down the field intended for KeAndre Lambert-Smith, but it was intercepted by Alabama’s Bray Hubbard.
Freeze was asked about the play after the game and said that it should’ve been coached better. He added that with the safety dropping into coverage, Hunter should have thrown the ball back to Thorne, rather than throw the ball deep to Lambert-Smith.
