A safari guide caught an enormous herd of giraffes on video and shared the footage on social media. Exaud Marandu, director of Utopia Safaris told Newsweek it was only the second time in his career he had seen such a large gathering of giraffes.

Tanzania is home to the Masai giraffe. According to the Giraffe Conservation Foundation, it is seen as the national animal of the east African country and the species is protected. The biggest threats facing the species is the expansion of humans into their range. Habitat loss and fragmentation as a result of agriculture has placed pressure on these creatures, while illegal poaching has also affected their numbers.
