A huge brawl broke out on a beach as some people clearly forgot about social distancing rules.
Thousands flocked to beaches yesterday as Brits tried to make the most of the nice weather and their new freedoms sinceBut social distancing went out the window in Broadstairs, Kent, where beachgoers became embroiled in a fight onShocking footage shows dozens of people coming together before things get heated and punches are suddenly thrown, as stunned families watch on.
One woman in a white one-piece could be seen at the centre of the melee, and at least three men were knocked to the ground during the ugly scenes.Officers were called and at least one person was injured and treated by paramedics, it is understood.Onlookers slammed them for breaking lockdown measures. David Votta said: ‘This is what happens when you relax lockdown measures too soon.He added: ‘We need to raise awareness of it as these lifted measures aren’t great.
A Kent Police spokesman said: ‘We were called at 4.15pm on Monday, May 25, 2020 to a report of an assault on Viking Bay beach in Broadstairs. ‘A man was reportedly punched during an argument between two groups of people. No serious injuries were reported. Anyone with information is asked to call Kent Police.’
