Emergency crews were alerted to the fire at Hunter Street in Kirkcaldy at around 2:45pm this afternoon, September 3.

A massive blaze has broken out at a building in a Scots town, sparking a huge emergency response this afternoon.

There is no information about any casualties at this stage but police have closed several roads and advise locals to avoid the area and to keep their windows and doors closed due to the smoke. A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "We are received a call at 2:46pm on Sunday, September 3, about a fire at Hunter Street in Kircaldy.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Emergency services are currently in attendance at a building fire on Hunter Street in Kirkcaldy town centre. Local road closures are in place with diversions.
