Scores of motorists got gas at the Turkey Hill at 1010 Lancaster Pike on or around July 2 when diesel fuel was mistakenly being dispensed from some regular pumps and vice versa.

“I got a check for $2,480,” Carnella said. “I was satisfied with that. All in all, they made good in this situation.” Carnella said she learned about the fuel mix-up from a discussion on a Quarryville-area Facebook message board and a July 12 LNP — LancasterOnline article that detailed the issue. McKinsey said Turkey Hill eventually reimbursed them for the required engine repairs to the squad car as well as the cost of checking the Fulton Township crews’ two ambulances, which didn’t need engine repairs.
“They didn’t seem to handle it great initially with how they notified the public, but they did do a good job after of taking care of it,” said Goe, who diagnosed and fixed his own engine troubles, which cropped up after getting fuel at the Turkey Hill.
