In the five feature films Miranda and director Joseph Kosinski have collaborated on to date , they’ve used green screen and seamless VFX to fantastical effect. But “Joe and I always try to figure out how to be as real as possible,” he said, by filming in-camera and using natural lighting.Some of the best acting work in the sequel happens because of returning star Val Kilmer. And not just Kilmer’s acting work.
