This is also the first time in franchise history that the Mavs will have two All-Star starters. Nowitzki and Jason Kidd are the only other two Mavericks who have started an All-Star game. Kidd was voted in, while Nowitzki’s starting berths were as an injury replacement.
While both Doncic and Irving will start, it isn’t yet known if they will be on the same or opposing teams. The NBA All-Star draft will take place right before the game at 6:30 p.m. CT. Team captains LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo will build the team rosters from the pool of players voted as starters and reserves in each conference.
