Simone Biles will headline the field of the country’s top gymnasts at the U.S. Olympic trials, her last step in earning a trip to her third Olympics.
The first session of men’s competition on Thursday will be televised on USA Network, while the next three nights — including the decisive Saturday and Sunday sessions — will be on NBC. Beyond Biles, who will compete on Friday and Sunday nights, there’s a lot of mystery about the rest of the team, especially with Skye Blakely announcing that she’s withdrawing after suffering a right Achilles injury during training. In addition, reigning Olympic champion Sunisa Lee and six-time world championship medalist Shilese Jones also are entering with physical issues.
