Google's AI overviews are here, and they're not easy to get rid of. Here's a guide to getting the classic Google Search back.
“Let Google do the searching for you.” That is the new tagline from Google ’s I/O conference this week, where the company announced it will be injecting AI-generated answers at the top of Google Search across the United States. Unfortunately, Google isn’t making it easy to opt out of the AI revolution, and not everyone is thrilled about it.
Part of Google’s AI revolution includes a new tab called “Web” which houses the Google Search results you know and love. We’re going to set that as your default search engine in Chrome’s address bar. First, you want to head to Google Chrome’s search engine page. You can copy and paste this into your address bar chrome://settings/searchEngines or you can click Settings -> Search Engine -> Manage search engines and site search. Once there, click the Add button next to “Site search.
