A great way to make your food shop go further curiously
A TikToker has found a quick and simple way to turn your leftover veg into a tasty snack. The average price of a loose broccoli these days is around 70p, but the majority of people throw a good chunk of it away in the form of the stalk.
'Airfryergirluk' came up with genius idea to turn unwanted broccoli stems into delicious fries using your air fryer. The 36 second clip shows how you can make the healthy snack using just an air fryer and seasoning. So far it has been viewed over 650K times, and starts by telling watchers not to throw their stocks away and to fry them instead. In the video the chef cuts of the head of the broccoli before slicing and peeling the stem.
The TikTok was was inspired by a recipe from renowned food influencer Yumna Jawad. Jawad is the woman behind popular blog feelgoodfoodie which specialises in providing people with simple and healthy recipes.
