IMPD will have extra patrols in neighborhoods Halloween evening.

A week ago, it was 78 degrees. Factoring in the wind chill, it could seem 60 degrees colder on Halloween.

Halloween will be a cold one for the kids this year. Just a week ago, the high temperature reached 78 degrees here. Tuesday could feel 60 degrees colder, with the wind chill factored in. It could make for one of the coldest Halloweens on record. "I'm layering up," said Channel 13 Meteorologist Sean Ash."Gloves. Heavy coats. And what might not be a bad idea is to have some blankets with you. You can wrap them up between homes so they don't get too uncomfortable. Or come up with a last-minute costume change to something a little warmer."And don't be surprised if you see some flurries outside. It's unusual to have snow this early. The most recent was back in 2014.

And with Tuesday's cold and wind in mind, Sean said limiting your time outside to maybe 30 minutes or so may not be a bad idea.WTHR would like to send you push notifications about the latest news and weather.
