The key here is to gradually ramp up the intensity depending on how your body responds. The more familiar you become with what works for you, the better your session will be.

If fatigue gets the better of being consistent, find a compromise that would get you the same results, think of a compromise that will allow you to accomplish a particular session with decent results. Being light-footed when it comes to executing your program can help you gain points in terms of consistency.
