The help comes via the Household Support Fund (HSF) but families are encouraged to act quickly if they want to apply
There's another Cost of Living payment coming for many UK families – and it could be given out within weeks. The payment – worth £200 for eligible families – is to come via the government's Household Support Fund .
The help is being given to families in the area ahead of the winter months and can be used on food, energy bills, to essential goods and supplies.'Various forms of assistance are being offered to address a wide range of household circumstances. What help is being given out and how? Those living in Birmingham who are eligible for the extra help will be given a £200 grant payment towards their bills or essential costs.
Once you've done this, the council will email all applicants about the outcome of their enquiry and the next steps. However, eligible households are encouraged to act quickly if they want to apply, as the money could run out before the end of the month if enough applications are received before then. This financial year the government has allocated £842 million to the Household Support Fund. This money is given to local councils to support low-income families in their area. How councils allocate this money and who is eligible varies from council to council.
