The National Book Development Board is launching what it touts as the country's largest book festival to date, the Philippine Book Festival. 📚 | via philstarlife

Eleven Eleven: Painting the Challenge and Beauty of MarriageTo reinforce the need to champion local literature, all books sold are from Filipino authors.

"We need access to our own stories," Aquino-Tugade said."We want to ensure that there is space that we give our own voice primacy." “How come we know about all of these global authors, but we don’t even know the works of our own? We have amazing Filipino-authored content yet we lack access," she said.

"The initiative to make people read books is urgent," Pasion-Flores said."This effort involves everybody."Maria Carolina Tapia, chief of NBDB's business and trade development division, added that there will be discounts and other promos during the PBF.
