Kate Bush’s surprising chart climb is the latest example of an old song from pop music’s library getting a new lease on life in the streaming era.
Kate Bush is running up the charts: The British art-pop and rock legend from the 1980s on Monday reached No. 4 on the Billboard singles chart with the nearly 37-year-old song, “Running Up That Hill .”
The 1985 song is experiencing a sudden ascent to the top of the charts thanks to Netflix ’s sci-fi series “Stranger Things,” which features the tune in its latest season. The song’s No. 4 position marks a career best in the U.S. for Ms. Bush, 63. The song initially peaked at No. 30 in 1985.
