WandaVision answered how the MCU's Scarlet Witch was able to destroy the Mind Stone in one of the Infinity Saga's most shocking moments.
Wanda Maximoff, a.k.a. the Scarlet Witch, was able to destroy the Mind Stone in Avengers: Infinity War, creating one of the MCU's biggest mysteries. While a relationship between Wanda and Vision had previously been teased, Avengers: Infinity War established a real connection between the pair.

Since the Mind Stone was a key piece of Thanos' Infinity War plan, the Avengers realized it would need to be destroyed.
Scarlet Witch Was Able To Destroy The Mind Stone Because Of Her Connection To It Vision states during Avengers: Infinity War that Wanda is the only hero with enough power to destroy the Mind Stone, suggesting that her powers operate on a "very similar signature" to the resonance of the Mind Stone.
While gifting the young Wanda a vision of her future as the Scarlet Witch, the Mind Stone also formed a connection between itself and Wanda. This meant that, when the time came for the stone to be destroyed in Avengers: Infinity War, the Scarlet Witch's connection to the Mind Stone allowed her to complete her task.
Scarlet Witch's Mind Stone Connection Explains How She Recreated Vision The fact that the Mind Stone had bonded with Wanda, and left a piece of itself within her, meant that the events of WandaVision could unfold several years later. "Previously On" revealed that Wanda had created a copy of Vision to reside in Westview, but WandaVision's finale saw the Scarlet Witch confirm that this version of Vision had been "the piece of the Mind Stone that lives within [her].
