by Jaie Avila / News 4 San AntonioIt's been a week since Sylvia Gonzalez’s case was argued before the U.S. Supreme Court. She sued city officials for ousting her from the Castle Hills city council, a legal battle that so far has cost the small town tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees.

Gonzalez is arguing Mayor JR Trevino and other city officials should not be protected by "qualified immunity". The case was dropped by the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office and Gonzalez sued to get back on the city council. However, city officials claimed they were protected from lawsuits by "qualified immunity".
