The Witcher showrunner has opened up about the differences between Liam Hemsworth and Henry Cavill’s portrayals of Geralt of Rivia.

According to her, Hemsworth’s Geralt will showcase a more “emotional” and subtly humorous side of the character.Recently, The Witcher creator Lauren Schmidt-Hissrich opened up about how Liam Hemsworth’s portrayal of Geralt of Rivia will be different from Henry Cavill’s interpretation.
In a recent interview withSchmidt-Hissrich explained that Geralt’s personality in the upcoming season reflects the character’s evolution. She said, “Geralt is a little funnier this season. He’s a little more dry. He’s also a lot more emotional.” The creator added, “He’s going through a lot of different things than we’ve seen in the past.” The fourth season reportedly delves deeper into Geralt’s emotional state as he continues his search for Ciri. Schmidt-Hissrich noted that Hemsworth has been able to properly express the “vulnerable” side of Geralt that had not been fully explored before. “And I think Liam was really able to access these sort of vulnerable levels in his performance that we just hadn’t had the opportunity to see before,” she explained. The showrunner also acknowledged that the cast and crew initially felt anxious about the change.
