“The fullness, the thickness, it’s powerful and glamorous – all those things that I think Naomi encapsulates as a woman,” says the supermodel’s hairstylist and friend, Guido Palau.
. After all, the pair has worked together for most of their careers. “I’ve known Naomi for many years,” says the legendary hairstylist. “We almost started at the same time. I love her to bits. I love her personality. I love her beauty. I love her strength.” It’s this notion of strength that Guido wanted to communicate in the hair, which could only mean one thing: gigantic proportions.
“I wanted it to be really joyful and celebratory,” he says. “The fullness, the thickness, it’s powerful and glamorous – all those things that I think Naomi encapsulates as a woman.” To create the look, Guido started by braiding the hair and releasing it to give it a sense of bounce and movement, before adding naturally textured extensions for that extra fullness, then using a wind machine on set to do the rest.
