Around one in seven Australian adults take antidepressants daily, but a review is calling their use into question.
"There are many drugs that we have in medicine, across the board that are very effective, but we still are unclear exactly why they're effective, and that's a separate issue," he said.
Other experts, like clinical psychologist Dr Lisa Patterson-Kane, also warned those taking antidepressant medication not to jump to conclusions.
