Classic Blue closely links with nature, according to Pantone Color Institute executive director Leatrice Eiseman, who stated: “That dusky, midnight blue speaks of the day winding down, a time to seek refuge, to seek quiet.” The hue has already proven to be a favorite of the British royal family, specifically the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, and the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, who both coincidentally wore the color at different engagements on Nov. 7.
Classic Blue has also been popping up on the red carpet, most recently at the British Fashion Awards on Dec. 2 where Shailene Woodley wore an oversize puffer coat from the 1 Moncler Pierpaolo Piccioli collection and Lauren Hutton wore a floral embroidered velvet Armani suit.
