Director Christopher Nolan reveals which premium formats provide the best possible viewing experience for seeing Oppenheimer in theaters.

Christopher Nolan reveals the best way to see Oppenheimer in theaters. The latest film from the visionary director follows the titular theoretical physicist who spearheaded the development of nuclear weapons during World War II and ushered in the Atomic Age.

Luckily, Nolan broke down the best ways to watch the film in theaters in an interview with the Associated Press ahead of the Oppenheimer release date on July 21. For the "best possible experience," the director highly recommends seeing Oppenheimer in IMAX 70mm, which is also one of the rarest formats, playing in only 25 locations in all of North America.

There are only a handful of filmmakers left, like Nolan, Quentin Tarantino, and Paul Thomas Anderson, who shoot on film and advocate for the format.
