Sylvester Smith and Caleb Wooden compete for one of Auburn's starting safety positions in fall camp

Auburn entered fall camp without many position battles, but a few starting spots remain up for grabs.

Even during Saturday’s scrimmage, Caleb Wooden and Sylvester Smith split reps with the first team, not giving too much of an indication of who’s leading that battle. “Caleb has a very strong mindset,” Smith said. “So just being around him and seeing how he attacks each play and learning what he’s thinking before each play and after each play. Adjustments and things like that.”
