Houston Hobby Airport and George Bush Intercontinental Airport will be closed on Tuesday as snow and ice is expected to fall in the area.
Both airports made the announcement that they will be "temporarily suspending operations" on Tuesday, due to the weather.The suspension is scheduled to begin at midnight on Tuesday.No flights will be allowed to depart or arrive at the airports, but teams will stay at the airports to make sure they are ready to restore operations safely as soon as possible.If you have a flight scheduled for Tuesday, you are asked to contact your airline.
Airport officials say they will monitor conditions on Tuesday to see if they will reopen on Wednesday.A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for the Houston area through Tuesday evening.Snow and ice should not be a concern early Monday either, but it will be cold.Temperatures will be below freezing on Monday morning and our high for the day is only expected to hit 39 degrees.The wind chill will be well below freezing, so bundle up if you have MLK Day plans.
